This is our why.

We, at The Welcome Table, believe that real conversations and community happen in the spaces where the belovedness and the voices of all are welcomed and valued. For us, this is rooted in the example of Jesus who often used food and table to bring people from all walks of life into community together. Our objective is to help facilitate meaningful conversations that lead us to re-examine our own beliefs through a deeper understanding of the experiences and stories of those around us. This can only happen when people like you bring yourself, your voice, and your heart to the table.

This is who we are.

We are “The Bunce Girls”, or at least that is what we have been called most of our lives. Originally from Lexington, North Carolina, we were raised surrounded by music, justice, and faith. Our mother and both grandmothers were music ministers, our father was an attorney, one grandfather was a professor, and the other was the pastor of our church. Needless to say, we were constantly challenged to express ourselves in thoughtful and meaningful ways. Often that was through the use of our voices, whether through singing or just good, honest conversation - conversations that most often took place around the table. Most of our Sunday afternoons were spent gathered around an open table with family and friends where the food was plentiful, stories and laughter connected our hearts, and where the presence of each individual was held sacred. It’s those moments that have inspired The Welcome Table.

our team

A little more about us…

Kendall Grubb, CEO

Kendall is our Chief Executive Officer! She, her husband, and their daughter are a military family who calls Nashville, TN home. Earning degrees in music and business administration from Belmont University, she jumps at any opportunity she gets to create something new and help bring it to life. From writing and performing music to leading TWT, she loves the power that song and story have to connect people from all walks of life!

LIN STORY-BUNCE, CCO

Lin is our “Lens,” a.k.a. Chief Communications Officer! She is a North Carolina native and lovingly calls Greensboro, NC home. She earned a Masters of Divinity from Wake Forest University and has served a wonderful and thoughtful congregation at College Park Baptist Church since 2009, pastoring to families and their faith development. Most of all, Lin loves the moments she gets to connect with her family, snowboarding with her wife and keeping up with their four kiddos and two energetic pups. Lin is a teacher, preacher, dreamer, and procrastinator who, if you ask her youth group, has a knack for trying to do way too many things in far too little time.

REV. DARYN STYLIANOPOULOS, DD

Meet Daryn, our Development Director! Daryn is a dreamer, and her superpower is building and caring for lasting relationships. She has called Boston, MA home for the past eighteen years. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University and Boston University School of Theology and serves as a Baptist pastor in the Boston area. Daryn is an advocate for the marginalized and works against injustices in her community. She believes in creatively cultivating a spirit of cohesion, welcome, and healing in the world. A lover of art, music, gardening, and, most of all, family, she often looks to these for inspiration in her work and ministry.

JUNE DARE BUNCE, PM

Meet June, our Project Manager! June is the glue that holds it all together at The Welcome Table. Outside of her work with TWT, she’s been a professional actor for the past fourteen years and has had the honor and pleasure of working as a drama instructor for organizations such as The Harlem Children’s Zone and the YMCA. When she’s not working on a script or at the office, you can either find her at the gym or on the yoga mat, walking around her adorable hometown, or working on the art of relaxing at home (it really is a skill).
