God of all that is amazing within and around us –
Life is hard, complicated, and overwhelming.
It is easy for us to get caught up in our day-to-day
and to miss the ways that you are all around us.
Awaken us t When it all feels too much, let us remember that we are not alone and we are each deeply loved! 💛

Let us remember to be near to one another and hold space for one another. Let us extend compassion and share love unconditionally. Let us look The world around us is afire with God, Elizabeth Barrett Browning writes.

At the very least, the world all around us is about to be aflame with fall! 🍁🍂 This is especially true for those who live in the mountain regions. We are en We can often miss the holy, amazing things happening around us because we get so wrapped up in what feels routine – going through the motions of simply getting from one moment to the next.

We get so focused on the day-to-day & Loving God,
Teach us to listen closely to the young among us—to their honesty, their questions, their wonder. Help us model compassion, humility, and love—And make us people who notice, who welcome, and who keep learning from the youngest If we want our children to embody the kingdom of God, then we must be intentional in shaping them toward it. We must foster humility, compassion, and wonder in them—and model those same qualities in ourselves. Children are always watching. As a new school year begins and classrooms fill again with students and teac When we reflect on the biblical images of tables and banquets and feasts that offer reminders of the kind of love and provision God provides and longs for us to share with one another, we see table where the conversation goes on for a while — l Create a space (in your home, church, or community group) where people are invited to share unfinished thoughts, half-formed questions, or stories in progress. Encourage margin in conversation—space to explore, stumble, and be met with kindness Hoping for more margin – or considering whether and when we want to extend more margin to others – is not the same as no boundaries or no accountability. Not all conversations and relitigations are entertained. We discern carefully around We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Rev. Kathryn House as our writer for this week’s Table Talk! 💛💛💛

Rev. Kathryn is Assistant Professor of Leadership Studies and Practical Theology and Chair of the Rev. Dr. Lee Barker Professorshi God of the birds and the lilies,
Teach us to breathe deeply,
and to notice the gifts right in front of us,
Quiet our restless hearts,
and remind us that your love and care
is enough for today.
Amen.
